Share Buttons that Won't Slow Down Page Loading?

There are quite a few web-based services that provide Share buttons for social media sites. Examples for such services include AddThis, AddToAny, Wibiya, etc.

They all look great but they all come with a catch: They slow down my site's page loading, because they rely on scripts running on their servers. In other words, the load on their servers (and connection) determines my site's speed...

It seems that the solution is having the scripts run locally on my site (please correct me if I am mistaken). Do you know of Share buttons implementation (or code) that runs locally on site?

Here's another that I've used. It creates the links on the PRODUCT INFO PAGES

It's a bit "clunky", but it does the job.

It requires an EDIT to your tpl_product_info_display.php file.

Create a BACKUP of that file, then call it up to edit.

Wibiya has a setting that forces the toolbar to load only AFTER the page content has loaded.

We are experimenting with Wibiya and currently believe it to be better than most - including AddThis which (in our view) is the worst bolt-on for Social Networking. AddThis should NOT be used on eComm sites because of the seriously bad effect it has on page load time.
