Moving from windows server to linux server - how to restore database ?

Hi all - apologies for cluttering up the forum.

We're moving a few sites across from a windows vps to linux vps server. Both servers have plesk control panel installed.

On the windows server there was a database backup repository which would allow you to backup / restore databases without going through phpmyadmin (which I found to be unable to handle large database backups etc)

Unfortunately from what I can see plesk only caters for this on windows servers :(

So my question is how do you normally restore databases when migrating servers ?

Thanks in advance for the help.
