Add image to main page

Hi. I used to have an image on the main page but deleted it. I want to put a new image on the main page. I saved the image on the server in the same place where the image I used previously is saved. It is here:
/public_html/includes/templates/Watermelon/images
I think I need to include it in the php for define main page but I'm not sure where. Here is the php:

More info: (I have also gone to Define Pages Editor where I have the wording for the main page. I tried both the "image" button and the "insert/edit image" button. I got a broken link each time.)

In the define pages editor, in plain txt add the html code for the image eg (with link)

<center><a href="http://www.your site.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1"><img style="border-style: none" alt="whatever" src="images/something.jpg"</a></center>

image would be in public_html/images in this case

1- my web url
2- the jpg file

I have 2 questions:
1-What do I put where it says "whatever?"
2-Where do I add it in the following php?
