testing on loca, how to ?

Dears

I want to build on a new shop using the last version of zencart and something like easy php.
This will by hosted first on my computer which run under Windows XP SP2.
Is there a step by step guide somewhere in FAQ or Forum on how to do this ?
I might also change and run my computer under Ubuntu, so same question for this system ?

Just search the forums for WAMP or XAMPP and you should find some good hints

I believe XP is now onto SP3 - check it - and get it loaded onto your local unless there is a specific reason why.
