TAX and Zones and set according to the instruction. At some point of checkout I will get this error message. What should I do?

This is showing no meter if the buyer is from my state or from outside of the IL state.

Not accepting payments from, or shipping to, your region errors are usually a result of not setting up zones properly. Let us know exactly what you've done with zones, and we might spot something.

This is what I have set:

Under Zone Definitions:
Zone name: Illinois
Zone Description: IL State Sales Tax
Status: Green Dot

Under Zone Definitions Details:
Country: USA
Zones: Illinois
**
Configuration>My Store>**
Basis For product TAX: Store

I would like to charge Tax for all purchases shipped witheen my state, and NOT charge tax for all purchases shipped to outside of my state.

Check under the configuration for your payment modules to see if the zone is/isn't selected. I'm using an Illinois address to test your site, and I'm getting the error message (though it is charging me sales tax), so you don't have something set up right.

Under Payment Modules My Payment Zone was set as NONE. I changed to Illinois and now I do not see Sorry, we are not accepting payments

But it will still charge Sales Tax for outside of the state sales. Where do i fix this.

I think I got it. I had to change my Zone Definition Detail to Illinois and that did the trick.

Under My Store>Basis of Product Tax IS set to SHIPPING which will determine if the item is shipped in or out the state.

IF i set my Zone Definition Detail to Illinois then it will report: Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region !!!

If i change Zone Definition Detail to All Zones it will work but it will charge TAX for Outside State purchases. And this is what I need to fix.

Go to your Zone Definitions and hit the Details button ...

What do you have set for the settings ...
Country:
Zone:

Country: United States
Zones: All Zones

Okay then change that back to just Illinois on the Zone ...

On the Payment module you do not need a Zone ... the Zone setting is to limit who can "use" a Payment Module ...

If I change this back to Illinois than it will get: Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region !!!

I have to set "ALL States" in order to work, but then I am facing new problem with charging State Sales tax for people outside of my State. How to fix this problem???

Go to the Modules ... Payment ... and click on your Payment Module and remove the Zone setting on it ...

Modules only need Zones if you are limiting who can use them ...

Payment Zone was set to NONE. Still same problem...

What Payment Modules do you have installed?

I create an account for Ohio and go to checkout and see you have the PayPal module installed ...

I change my Payment address to Illinois and see the PayPal module installed ...

I change my Payment address to Canada and see the PayPal module installed ...

What module(s) should I see besides PayPal? :unsure:

Check/Money Order

If you go to the Modules ... Payment ...

is the dot on Check/Money Order moneyorder green?

is the dot all of the other Payment modules red?

When you click on the Check/Money order moneyorder what do you see displayed in the right panel?

Check/Money Order Status is GREEN dot. When click on EDIT it open the window on the right:

Payment Zone: NONE
Set Order Status: Pending
Sort Order: 50
Make Payable to: the Store Owner/Website Name

All other modules are RED Dot

Is the problem on your TanselTech site?

I see PayPal when I try the checkout ...

NOTE: on the Check/Money Order you need to set the:

Make Payable to: the Store Owner/Website Name

to something valid like:
Fred Smith

so that it will show how the check/money order should be made out ...

If you do not have any PayPal modules installed ... you may want to check the two files, on the server, for:
/includes/configure.php
/your_secret_admin_directory/includes/configure.php

and see that the database information and path information matches up ...
