What I need to use Zen Cart?

Hello folks,
What I would like to know is exactly what I need to use Zen Cart.
I am a total newbie at this kind of stuff (website making) and have not been able to find info on what I need to start Zen Cart. (I checked the FAQ already)

So, I need a host right?...Fine. MySQL..I am not sure what that is. I need a server right?
What I intend to sell is music - namely digital downloads. I would really like to use Zen Cart for this.
The company that I am working for uses Miva - for their site but are now looking for me to hook them up with a digital music site and Zen looks best. Maybe I can integrate with Miva??

Just need to know exactly what I will need to begin using. I guess I will need a big server. Any recommendations would be great!

Yes, you do need a hosting, with php, and MySQL installed, MySQL is database.
Good hosting companies have them both, and at a reasonable price give you enough space, and bandwidth, which you would need for the type of your business, make sure with them, as most do have some sort of "normal" usage in their terms; google for hosting, and contact them before signing up, most have live chat.

I don't know what miva is.
Just need to know exactly what I will need to begin using.
Then you need an ftp software, a good free one is filezilla, a text editor, a good free one is notepad++
At least a basic knowledge of html, and css, and usage of the above mentioned softwares, and finally some reading of the tutorials.

Note- Miva is a paid shopping cart program. Zen Cart will duplicate essentially everything that could do, so you would not use them both at the same time (no point to integration).

No, you can not integrate with Miva.

Also wanted to add not sure where you are located but you also want to check that you do not break copyright laws if your selling music. They do not take that stuff lightly. Zen cart is a great shopping cart and you will love it.

Ok! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with regards to set up.
The record label I am working for is already selling CD and LP's of artist's music through their Miva website but are looking to me to create a way to sell digitally. Not knowing much about Miva, I thought Zen Cart could be a good way to go, but perhaps I can already do this through Miva. Something I will investigate further.
