Tell customer product has been added to cart without showing cart?

Hi,
is it possible to have a message such as "product successfully added to cart" display when a customer puts something in the cart rather than actually showing them the contents of the cart. (

I found the setting for showing/ not showing the cart after purchase but i cant find anything about how to visually show/confirm that a product was added)

I'm using 1.3.9.

Use the shopping cart sidebox or the shopping cart in header addon. There is not messaging though.

Go to your Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
SUCCESS_ADDED_TO_CART_PRODUCTS

and select Catalog ... then click search ...

You should find that there is a reference in the shopping_cart.php class to add the message and a reference in the the english.php for what the define is that this message should read ...
