Purchase wizard pre-populating a product page

Hi there,

two questions.... in a nutshell ->

• ]What is the least evil, (minimal changes etc) way to pass data from say a "sales configuration wizard" into the product info page for a given product?
• ]Is it possible to have a sales wizard, add a product directly to the cart; and then pass over to the "Your Shopping Cart Contents" page?

(Longer reason as to what I'm trying to do):

I'm looking to extend Zen-cart to include a purchase wizard for my customers. Once the customer has made their product (and attribute selections) from my wizard, I'm looking on how to pass this data into the zen-cart product info / product purchase page.

Ideally, I would love to have the customer directed to the page the comes up after "add to cart", but if that's not possible, then to at least direct them to the product info page with it pre-populated with the attributes for the product purchase from the wizard.

I know this is an odd question, but my products are highly configurable and some options can't work with other options. (EG, really a product configurator kind of a problem). Having a product for each valid option set isn't feasible either. So I'm looking to embed the logic of "what can work" into my own wizard. I would really love to run the rest of the business with zen-cart however.

Help would be greatly appreciated. I'm banging my head on this one and wonder if my requirements exceed the base capabilities for Zen-Cart... even with extra clever coding... please tell me that's not so.....:frusty:
