Is there really no mailing list available admin or addon?? sidebox??

I would thin it would be a pretty basic thing, and I think it ask for customers to join email list on checkout, but is there no email list signup list or page I can integrate? I would hate to have 2 separate mailing list, one for people that have purchased sutff and other for people who signed up using random script i find and EZLink to...

Am I missing it? Just looking for a simple sidebox that lets people enter their email and I can keep them updated and what not. I didnt see anything in the addons section, so I think that i may be something in the admin, but no luck finding it, or at least anything in the admin saying that I can display a sidebox for customer to see.

right, i did see this add on, but isnt there an email letter signup on the end of checkout? in admin it says newsletter subscribers and how many i have subscribed.

I just want to let people sign up that havent checked out/bought anything yet.

seems like a big part of marketing that you would want EVERYONE on your mailing list.

If I use mailchimp.com it would make a whole nother account that may have some of my customers that signed up for newsletter on checkout but ALSO signed up for the mail chimp newsletter. I wouldnt want them getting 2 emails. That would seem like a SPAM thing to me....

just want the newslestter signup that shows up at the end of checkout on a sidebox or even an eZ page would work, just somehow for the customers to signup for a newsletter without having to use check out first.

As of its v2.0, the Mailchimp Integration mod Clyde mentioned says:

Allows MailChimp signup at account creation time.

so you should have no duplication problems with that mod. It's possible that you might need to merge the Mailchimp list with existing newsletter customers; try it and find out.

Your "random script" is most likely not written to post these to the database
