Problem “Down for Maintenance" for both Home and Admin Pages! Please HELP

I set "Down for Maintenance" to on once. However, when I try to log in as Admin (http://mydomain/admin), the Admin page shows "Down for Maintenance" as well. So now I have no way to turn it off as I can't go into the control panel.

Could anyone please tell me what to do now? Is there any other way to change the configuration to turn off "Down for Maintenance"?

There is no "down for maintenance" page on the admin side.
If you're seeing the same down-for-maintenance on the admin side as you see on your storefront, then you've got files mixed up in your admin folders and will need to fix that problem before you'll be able to access your admin.

Could you please tell me if I want to change the setting for "Down for Maintenance" in Database, which table and which Configuration Title I should look at? Is the table "zen_configuration"? There are 500+ titles in that table, which one is for "Down for Maintenance"?

Oh, Forget about it above, I have already found it.

The Home page looks fine now, no more "Down for Maintenance", and so does Admin page. However, I still can't see Admin page. It doesn't show up.
So I reckon that it should be like what you mentioned, something wrong or mixed up in my admin folders. I will check it up later on.

However, I don't think it is a blank admin page issue.

The problem now is like:

If I use the link http://mydomain/admin to access admin side, then it just shows nothing but my home page only.

If I use the direct link http://mydomain/admin/index.php, it is fine. The login page shows up and I can access into admin side to do anything.

That is the only problem I have got here now. Others all look fine.

It would save me a lot of time if you could give a hand on this issue.

Sounds like you've got a busted so-called SEO URL addon that's redirecting incomplete URLs to your store home page.
Or, you've got a wonky .htaccess rule that's treating paths without a filename in some way that redirects it to a home page.

None of these symptoms would be a result of using the Down For Maintenance feature. Thus, it begs the question: what have you been changing?
