HELP getting to #1 on google

I am having troubles getting my site to show up with the key words that I created in the meta tags for my site, I have created the sitemap.xml and publish it several times a week, I have Google anaylitics, webmaster and business setup, they show my key words but I just cant get it to hit unless I type in my business name directly. I have my site setup to accept spiders from Google, yahoo, bing, aol. Any suggestions to get a better listing. Also I cant seam to get google to create sitelinks.

I have been on Google webmaster for about a month now so I know its not just having to wait my turn.

Oh and come check us out, 3littleurchins.com:clap:

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

Maybe it was Template Monster trying to fix the 49 html warnings on the main page.

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

Many forget the basics when they start thinking SEO.
I have one customer who is an authorized distributor of a product. He upset the manufacturer because he showed up ahead of them in Google.
All he did was install 1.3.9h, write intelligent descriptions, and create quality images of the product. What we did for him after this was to clean up the html code. That's the way a search engine sees a site.
Clean up the code, use some h tags in descriptions, and you will begin to rise.
Try entering your site at validator.w3.org. While some of the errors may seem trivial, making it easier for the spiders will be rewarded.

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

Loading speed need to be addressed.

Your login page is un-secure, Create an Account is secure, that doesn't sound right.

Your home page has no content what so ever besides image that take forever to load.

Meta data is not optimized...

Even when you follow all SEO guidelines it will take a few months before you actually see results from SEO. In your case you didn't even implement the basic guidelines.

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

I wonder too whether your file to block non-US traffic might also get in the way of the search engine spiders.

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

Hi,

I am facing similar Issues. My site has been up for 8-10 months now. I have an online store for selling kids products in India and I must admit there is huge amount of competition. But as there are good many number of kids too, my site should have takers.

As suggested by DBLTOE, i ran my site thru - validator.w3.org and found that I had used '&' in 4 of my category names. I have changed that and after re-running the result shows: "passed".

Please suggest more ideas .. Not having "hits" and not coming on search after being online for so long is depressing. My URL : - https://www.bambino.co.in
Thanks !

Re: HELP getting to #1 on google

Read some of the many threads in the search engines forum, http://www.zen-cart.com/forumdisplay.php?52-Search-Engines

There are many issues you need to look at. Main thing is your lack of content. Also the use of some SEO mod for user friendly url's is a total waste of time in my opinion. Focus on your content and it might take a year or longer to get anywhere in a competitive product type.
