Simple SEO URL, Ultimate SEO URLs, Ceon URI Mapping SEO

i'm looking for seo url module which i need,
https://www.site.com/product-name-p-9
https://www.site.com/category-name-c-2
i find the following mods which are very good, but ...

Simple SEO URL
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=1013
i like it, and the alias function is nice,
but the category details have to be added to product url,
for my part, i need to remove category id and name from product url :(

it seems good, but there's a lot of people here meeting problems with this mod and it's said no one answer questions on forum. :unsure:

i'm told its the better one, but it needs to be modified the url handy, i guess i wouldn't use it cause i need a mod generate the urls automatically. :dontgetit

Simple SEO works for me with no problem, you can remove the category id from the URL and remove the category from the product URL if you wish to.

You can have it customized to do whatever you want.

I won't pay for an SEO mod when there are 3 available for FREE.

i get lots of problems with ultimate seo urls, ceon uri mapping seo is not suitable for me,
simple seo url is great, the only problem is i don't know how to remove the category from the product url, which is important for me,

ssu generates url with category name and id https://www.site.com/category-name-c-1/product-name-p12
or with category id https://www.site.com/-c-1/product-name-p12

but i want the urls being like https://www.site.com/product-name-p12

could you tell me what do i remove the category details? thanks in advance

Sorry I am no experts in SSU. I did my sites years ago, I don't remember how I did it.

do u think its easy to modify the codes of ssu to make it as what i want? it seems the curent version of ssu doesn't permit us to remove category from product url.
perhaps i needn't buy a new seo mod but just a modified version of ssu?

I think I saw Conor say that the latest version of his CEON mod had an option for auto link name generation. Have you investigated this thoroughly? Even if it's a commercial option, I think that would be the way to go, as he is regularly supporting his mods.

i haven't installed CEON mod before cause i don't think it could generate url automatically.

Those are really questions to ask of the mod's author in its support thread.

Better yet, read the last several pages of the thread before posting, so you are not repeating a question that was recently answered.

The free version available for download does not generate the urls automatically.
There is a (recommended, paid) add-on Mapping Manager available from CEON which does generate the URLs automatically when used in conjunction with the original URI Mapping code (albeit with some minor code changes).

One thing I like is being able to import (by sql) alternate URLs from my old store in cases where URLs changed between the old and new stores

Some things that could be improved - having to modify it to use file extensions like .html and to have a trailing slash if there is no extension - which in my case is necessary to match old URLs -- and the store root folder name is hard-coded in every url - which complicates having testing and staging installs in different folder locations - which I shall modify to use the configured folder path from config.php

I don't think it has any auto-url-generation except when new products/categories are added after the mod is installed, any pre-existing pages have to be uri mapped independently by updating the DB

I haven't tried any of the other seo plugins

Out-of-the-box, no, CEON UrI does not have it's own auto-generating utility for old URIs to be mapped into the new location. There are one or more add-ons available, but not on this site to do so.

As for trailing slashes on a directory, CEON historically doesn't need a trailing slash and could work with a redirect having or not having the trailing slash.
File extensions are pretty much a thing of the past regarding standard web pages. As for sub-directories included in the uri, the "ideal" setup places ZC in the root directory, no sub-folder business, but sometimes that's not the case. As for testing, and continued use of it, the use of sub-domains can make the concern go away. As long as the folder exists and contains the same directory structure, the store uri can be whatever.

As for overall, the USU thread has shown that individualized support is present, the other two seem to be supported mostly by the community, not by those more responsible to the continued modification of the software.

As to the rate comparison above, would mean more if that same site was tested with an alternate means of uri rewriting or perhaps none at all?
