Extra Category Description on home page.

Hi Guys,

I need to add category description on the home page.

The current category description i'm using to use during drill down of the category. But I want a SEPARATE category description to show below each category. Any1 have any ideas how to do this or is there anything like this.

Adding a sub-cat would be my general answer but is probably not what you want

Ok, the extra text field will have a 2nd type of description for my Categories for SEO. I want to be able to add this from admin section, and it will only show on my home page under my categories. About 25-30 word text.

On my home page, when i open the page, it shows my categories with images and names. i want it under the name to show. NOT the side box categories. The open page category section.

This is the part that will require some extensive codeing and DB work

As there is no DB record existing to hold this data one will have to be added

As there is no code for its entry in the admin it will have to be added

As there is no code to extract it from the DB and display it on the store front it will have to be added

The Short Description for Categories mod could probably be tweaked to do what you want.
