Creating New Pages - Turning Zencart into my only website!

Hello Everyone!

I did try to search for an answer here, but I didn't have much luck.

I am completely new to Zencart and the whole web/ecommerce scene.

I have created a weebly website, and have a few products that I sell using paypal buttons. I was originally going to leave my weebly site as my main site, and simply use Zencart as my store. After reading a few posts, I was persuaded to turning Zencart into my only site!

Although Zencart is already built with alot of extra pages (about us, privacy policy etc) I would like to add a few additional pages that I currently use on my weebly site. Can someone explain how I can go about doing this, or direct me to where I can find that information!

I assume that these pages are html pages....

Copy ONLY the content that is between the body tags and paste into a new ezpage
This assumes that the page has no navigation that

If it does, then determine ONLY the content part and copy & paste it into an new ezpage

There is a limit the HTML can store approximately 65,000 characters - anything above that will be lost

EZ-pages
In admin > tools > manage ez-pages
you can create all the pages you need.

I'm currently at work so hard to give you definitive answer but...

Leave the Catalogue alone

in the base set up you will see another catlogue that says

page 2,3,4 etc.

Find any one of those files define_page_2 etc and copy them - name them

Page 6,7,8 etc

then there's another part of the code that points to it inside another file - I assume you would then to the same copy paste thing inside the code and save it.

DO THIS ON YOUR LOCAL FIRST

There are 8 files/edits required to create another define page
You can review what is required in the about us 3rd party module

It's too bad that I am also at work and don't have time to test the ezpages and let you all know how it goes. I'll give it a shot tonight and report back.

So, I couldn't help myself and setup my first "test" ezpage.

I don't understand how to add images into the html code, and I can't see the new page on my website. I was hoping to have it display on the top where my "home" page button is.

Ezpages will be displayed in the "Important information" side box which you do not have enaqbled
admin > tools > layout box controller

There is not much real estate where that button is unless your page is very small

Think you are confusing adding pages with customizing your header

Thanks for your help, updated it with it displaying in the header and it all works now! That is an "ez" page :)

Try pasting this into an ezpage which is the content of that page minus the head, scripts & footter stuff as I stated initially

FYI I did see where to upload an image in the html page area. I just am not sure where you point it to when it asks for the URL? I have a friend hosting the site for me right now, would I need to upload images to the host area that he provided me and use that URL?

If your ZenCart is at the root of the domain(not in a folder)
and you upload the images to say /images/my_images/

The url designation would be

/images/my_images/image.XXX

For general website or ez-page images not belonging to a specific product, you would use FTP to upload the images to the /images/ folder or a subfolder of it. If the images are to be part of the template, it would be preferable to upload them to /includes/templates/your_template/images/.

Then you use standard HTML <img> tags to display the images on your ez-page:
