Tax not charged on one order (so far...)

Hi,

I am using the latest version of zen-cart and up until yesterday all was going well, then I received an order to which no GST (sales Tax) was applied.

The customer ordered two items - and the tax was not applied to either item. I have been in and replicated the order this morning and was charged tax correctly and in admin both items have tax applied.

I only sell within New Zealand and only have one tax rate for all Zones within NZ. Both items are marked as taxable goods and are showing the correct prices.

As I said, I've had plenty of orders come through the site with no issues until yesterday, and I have not been able to replicate the issue when putting an order through for the same items myself.

I've also check the admin logs and it doesn't appear to have been any suspicious activity.

Any ideas on how this could of happened?

I've just seen that for some reason none of this customers address is listed when I click on customers and then edit on her profile in the Admin - so I assume this is why the customer was not charged tax.

Odd though that my sales e-mail had the address details on it...
The saga continues..

After a little more investigating in my database I found that my customer had country id 223 next to their name, while all others had the correct ID for NZ (153).

The customer had left the country field blank (ie, not chosen a country) as per below:

So now just have to work out a way to stop this happening...
(any ideas?)

Turns out that my default country was still set to the US :oops: , so I changed that and the blank option disappeared.:frusty:
