TAX NOT WORKING for some reason.

I don't know why but the tax is not being calculated on my taxable items.
I check that each item description to see that the Tax Class says: Taxable Good.
I check the Location / Taxes in Admin to see that the Zone Definitions, Taxable Goods and the Tax Rates are all configured properly.
What am I missing?

Everything looks like it should. I am using zencart 139h
Any one have any idea what I missed.

Went through the steps in my zencart ebook and find that I have all my stuff configured correctly and still zencart 139h will not add my tax to taxable good.

Can anyone help. Please.

Check your Zone Definition ... and click on DETAILS ...

What do you have set for:
Country:
Zone:

Country is set as: United States
Zone is set as: Minnesota

You appear to have TWO Minnesota for your State ... :eek:

First, go to Locations / Taxes ... ... Zones Definitions ... and go to DETAILS ... and Delete Minnesota ...

Next, go to phpMyAdmin, and in the SQL enter:

SELECT * FROM zones WHERE zone_name LIKE 'Minnesota';

The defaults are:
34 223 MN Minnesota

Delete the one that does not read that ...

Next, go back to Locations / Taxes ... ... Zones Definitions ... and go to DETAILS ... and add back in:
Country: United States
Zone: Minnesota

Next, edit your Customer address and reset it, as you probably, maybe, had the duplicate Minnesota set ...

Now see if the Tax Rate works ...

(Next, go to phpMyAdmin, and in the SQL enter:)
Is the above located at my servers control panel? If so I did run the Quote and got this:

I did do the first step by deleting Minnesota in the Zones Definitions

Also this last step about the customer address, I am not sure where this is reset.

First, let's fix the duplicates ...

You probably are using prefixes on your database tables such as:
zen_

If that is the case, you need to add your prefix to the code:

SELECT * FROM zen_zones WHERE zone_name LIKE 'Minnesota';

See if that let's you fix it ...

NOTE: replace the zen_ with the prefix you see on all of your database tables ...

Thanks Ajeh for all your help. I have it running fine for now but I found that I may have a much bigger issue.

I did not find where there was TWO Minnesota for my State in my data base.

I did find where the default was set to: The defaults are:
34 223 MN Minnesota

So all I did do is: go to Locations / Taxes ... ... Zones Definitions ... and go to DETAILS ... and Delete Minnesota ... and then reinsert it back in and now it works.

The bigger issue is that when I installed this new version of zencart 139h under the root directory I left the original folder named (zencart_139h)which was used as my test site before I put a copy of it under the root.
Now when I delete that extra (original zencart_139h) folder my site goes down and I get a screen that say's I did not properly install zencart. It appears that my site may be using both folders and I have not got a clue how to fix it.

I go to your web site and in the State dropdown I see TWO Minnesota listed ...

I strongly recommend you figure out why this is happening ...

In your Zen Cart Admin ... go to the Locations / Taxes ... Zones ... and you will probably see about 190 records ...

Find Minnesota ...

If you look, you probably have 2 of them ... one that you will see in the URL if you click on it:
cID=34

and the other:
cID=182

The 182 is your duplicate ...

Can you explain where you are finding two Minnesotas on my site.

Can I just delete both of them in the admin and go through the reinstall procedure that is in the zencart ebook or this tutorial: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=155

Delete the one that is 182 ...

You will see in the URL the:
cID=182

when you click on the one that needs to be deleted ...

Then recheck the settings on the DETAIL for your Zone Definition that you created ...

Next, go to your My Account and check your Address listing to ensure that you are using the Good Minnesota ...

Then, test your taxes and make sure all is working ...

Well, Hell that was easy. Did not realize that by clicking on one of them that it tells me in the URL to which one needs to be deleted. It seems to be working. Learned something again today. Wish I new this 24 hours ago.
