My attributes keep moving out of order.

I have an item with three colors

bare
black
red

now i want them to drop down in that order.

when i enter bare, fine
when i enter black, fine
when i enter red, red goes up on top

so it ends up being

red
bare
black

it does this in SOME products, some products are just fine, any clues?

Re: My attributes keep moving out of order.

Go to the Catalog ... Option Value Sorter ...

Select from the dropdown Color and click EDIT ...

Set the Default Sort Order for the Option Values as you want them to display ...

Now go to the Product that is messed up in the Attributes Controller and click the UPDATE Sort Order ...

If you were to set up ALL of your Option Names with Options Values with Default Sort Orders ... you could then update your whole site in the Tools ... Store Manager ...

NOTE: backup your database before you do this ...

Re: My attributes keep moving out of order.

One thing I don't like is that most of those buttons, when you do that. It should take you back to the same screen.

Just like when you edit a product and its description, shouldn't it take you back to the same screen, yet it takes me back to the main admin section. is this a bug?

I know it was in os

Re: My attributes keep moving out of order.

Are you saying when you hit the UPDATE SORT button that you are going back to the Admin index.php page?

If so go to this this thread and on post #11 for:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=167860&highlight=update_attribute_sort

see if that corrects the problem ...

Re: My attributes keep moving out of order.

Sounds like you need your data cleaned up after the import ...

osC allows a lot of things that won't work in Zen Cart because it is limited in what it can do ...

In Zen Cart, you cannot have both Products and Categories in the same Category ...

Categories hold Categories or Products but not both ...

EP is a reference to Easy Populate, an importer ...

You may not have used Easy Populate, but you did import your database so you probably have some clean up to do to straighten things out ...

One thing you can do is go to the Categories with Categories and Products and move the Products to other Categories that do not have both Products and Categories ...
