Under Admin > Categories > Categories/Products I get this in red at the bottom

WARNING: You have Products in the Top Level Category. This will cause pricing to not work properly in the Catalog. Products found: 1

I don't see any products and what is this error mucking up?

Im on 1.3.8 and am getting the same error message.

I identified a blank record in the top level and tried to delete it using the X button like you normally would but it wouldnt delete so I went into the database and deleted the record which happened to be the MAX id product_id as well. I deleted it out of the products table but I still get the message that I have one product in the Top Level Category.

Anyone know how I can get rid of this error

Warning: you have products in the top category
Use myphpadmin and look at products_to_categories table
find a record that has a 0 in categories_id field or bad data.

Just give it a category_id that already exists.

This was solved by SkipWater not me. Just passing info tgat worked for me.
