Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

I am using v.3.9h and for the last few days I have had customers purchase from the store but a few customers here and there are not receiving an invoice or showing their orders in their order history. They finish the transaction with paypal but the orders are not showing in their account that the purchase even happened. I don't show the order at all at the store. I have not updated anything or added anything new to the store that may have altered anything. This has just happened in the last couple of days. Why would it be happening randomly and not to everyone? It has been only a handful of customers. What can I do to fix it? I have had my store since Jan of 2010 and updated my zen cart to 1.3.9h in January 2011. This is the first time I have been having these issues.

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

Change to using PayPal Express Checkout instead of Website Payments Standard.

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

The symptoms you describe are not normal, and I can't think of any way to duplicate your problem using a clean brand new uncustomized install.
So, maybe it's a problem with some addons you've added?
But, without knowing anything about your site, it's impossible to help you. Maybe you can start by answering all the questions asked in the "Posting Tips" section of the New Thread / Reply screen? Click the Reply button below, and you'll see the section you've skipped over previously.

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

I am getting this as well. When I click the install button for the PayPal Express it does not install it, and then loads up the page for the "PayPal Website Payments Standard - IPN" which is already set up. Am I missing something here?

This is off of a brand new fresh install using 1.3.9h, and is hosted on HostGator. The only mod installed has been to correct the USPS Shipping issue with the January 2nd, 2011 C version and a different color them for the store front end.

It happened to me when I did my first test purchase, my store is not going live until I get this resolved.

From the Admin panel if I click on Customers - PayPal IPN I can see the transaction there. Then if I click the blue arrow on the right side of the transaction or on the Orders button on the right it takes me to a new page: http://mydomain.com/zen/manage/orders.php?page=1&ipnID=1&referer=ipn or http://mydomain.com/zen/manage/orders.php?page=1&ipnID=1&referer=ipn (respectively). At the top of this page I see a pink bar, it states: "Error: Order does not exist. 0".

In Admin - Customers - Customers I can see the account info, but it lists 0 transactions, for the customer.

Also, the test purchase did not remove any items from the inventory list and the Admin - Reports section also does not show the transaction.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Tom

Your situation sounds like a classic problem of IPNs not completing, which is a common problem when you're using the Website Payments Standard method.
Using Express Checkout instead will prevent that.

And, since you can't have BOTH installed at the same time, as evidenced by the error message that appears when you try to install Express Checkout. So, click Remove on the Website Payments Standard module, and THEN click Install on the Express Checkout module, and configure it. Instructions: https://www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

Thank you! I did not think of uninstalling the Website Payments Standard - IPN first as I have seen in other (nameless) cart systems the use of two different paypal setups.

It seems that the cart is working now, and it is logging the sales. I did a test purchase that worked fine through paypal.

In "Admin - Customers - PayPal IPN" I still see the original test purchase (Invoice#0) but can not access it to edit it. If I click on it a pink bar shows up and states "Error: Order does not exist. 0" Is there a way to delete this invoice so that I can start fresh when I finally put the cart live for the club members?

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

Thanks very much! I just got the same problem and if not this thread I'd never look for the problem in payment modules. That's really last place to look... However, changing to paypal express solved the issue. Thanx again.

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

I am also having this problem but not just with paypal but also credt card payments, which tells me it's not a paypal issue. I saw a thread a while ago when another client had this happen.

The thread went on to explain that it only happens to orders that are on sale with an odd last digit on the price. eg $25.78. They said it was to do with the rounding of the cents. I can't find the thread!! People were looking in the stored log files and what the cart was storing and what paypal had were different.

My client now has it happening to credit card orders as well as paypal and their shipping, tax and address are missing from the order and email notification!

Any help on that would be great and if anyone knows the thread im talking about, a link to it would be awesome!!

THANKS!

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

While it may seem comforting to find that someone else had a similar problem, what's MOST important if you want help to figure out a solution to YOUR SPECIFIC problem is details.

Things like Zen Cart version, list of all addons installed, WHEN this first suddenly started happening, WHICH payment modules appear to be involved, etc. Answer those questions as well as the rest of the questions shown in the "Posting Tips" section of the next screen which appears when you click the "Reply" button below.

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

I have 3 websites this is happening to, randomly. I have built over 25 sites to date. The 3 it is happening to are all the latest version clean installs.

This IS my problem, not something i read. The thread im talking of, KNEW what the problem was and it could NOT be fixed. It needed to be fixed in the next version release!! I cannot find that thread to see if anyone has updated it with any sort of solution.

The problem was happening to items ONLY on sale with an odd currency last digit... meaning if it was not ending in a 0 or a 5 then it was not matching the debug log. It was rounding the total amount in the log, but not in the amount on the invoice. The log file was not matching the over all total... hence the error! So if your overall payable total was $24.88, it was logging it as 24.90 (rounding off)and the two totals were not matching... there's the error!
However I cannot find that thread i read that in, i thought i bookmarked it! I was hoping to keep checking back until it had a fix.

I'm not really good at explaining myself through typing, so I hope the above makes sense?

Re: Orders Not Showing In Customer Accoung

Okay, you just repeated yourself, but didn't answer my questions. I have no more details about your Zen Cart versions, your payment modules, your addons, etc.

I already know what you think the problem is, but I don't have anything about your sites to go on.
