Display any item on homepage?

Does anyone know of any way, via admin, to make select products I pick display on the homepage?

Can select a category but not one from here and one from there

admin > config > layout settings > Main Page - Opens with Category

Hmm...yea I entered the category id and nothing happens

Oh, ok, nevermind. I got it back to how I wanted it. Thanks anyway, and thanks for the help you offered me while ago with that logo. :cool:

admin > config > layout settings > Main Page - Opens with Category

To go with this you also need to set "Categories always show on Main Page".
