Need help! Generate 1000 gift certificate redeem codes

Dear Masters,

I would like to have partnership with Groupon, so I need to generate at least 1000 gift certificate redeem codes to Groupon. so when customers buying from their website, each customer receive a ready redeem code in Groupon's email.

Then customer can use those redeem codes in our website.

What solution can fit this case?

You would need to write the custom code to generate the coupons ... there is nothing built into Zen Cart for this ...

I am not sure if anyone has made an add on for generating Discount Coupons and then putting them in the format needed for Groupons ...

But if using Discount Coupons instead of gift certificate, the un-used money(credit) will be gone, correct?

For example the coupon is for $40, and after purchase of items for $30 , the $10 is gone then, cannot be saved in the account and used in the next login. right?

Should we or Groupon generate the code?

And how the codes managed in Zen Cart?

When a Gift Certificate is created, a record is added to the table:
coupons

with the code the amount and the unique redemption code ...

I do not know if Groupon wants you to supply them with a list or if they supply you with a list to build your Gift Certificates from ...

You will need to check with Groupon and see how they work ...
