Coupons and free shipping

We want to set up a promotional coupon for 100% (yes, thats 100%) for certain buyers. For these special buyers, we want to also deduct the shipping charges.

I tried setting up a coupon for 100% and free shipping, but it appears that the free shipping option overrides the coupon percentage and all the cart does is deduct the shipping charge.

If I don't check "free shipping" then the cart does deduct the full amount of the purchase, but adds on shipping based on the purchase price.

Is there a way to get both?

Well, I just found a thread that explains this isn't possible in the current version.

There must be a way to tweak the code to fix this -- any ideas?

I posted code the other day for Discount Coupons with the ability to have both an Amount/Free Shipping or Precentage/Free Shipping ... but you will need to hunt it down as I forget where I posted that ... :smile:
