Removing the totals on the order confirmation page

Hi,

I am using version 1.3.9h of Zen Cart. I have a question regarding the step 3 of 3 the order confirmation page. I did go through the forum to see if my question was answered in a previous post, but only found other questions people asked regarding the order confirmation page.

I just want to remove the total summary at the bottom of the order confirmation page as we send our clients a official company quotation regarding the order. So basically we just use the cart system as a order request system. Should the client accept the quotation the pay us via EFT or direct bank deposit and once payment clears we ship the goods.

That is why I want to remove the order total are on the order confirmation page if possible.
I have attached a image to give you a better idea.

Many thanks,
Jacques

Re: Removing the totals on the order confirmation page

Hi again,

I still have the problem as stated above and while waiting for a reply have done the following.

I think the file that needs editing is the checkout_process.php which is located in includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/

<?php
//

// |                                                                      |
// | http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php                                    |

//

define('EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT', 'Order Confirmation');
define('EMAIL_TEXT_HEADER', 'Order Confirmation');
define('EMAIL_TEXT_FROM',' from ');  //added to the EMAIL_TEXT_HEADER, above on text-only emails
define('EMAIL_THANKS_FOR_SHOPPING','Thanks for shopping with us today!');
define('EMAIL_DETAILS_FOLLOW','The following are the details of your order.');

//define('EMAIL_TEXT_SUBTOTAL', 'Sub-Total:');
//define('EMAIL_TEXT_TAX', 'VAT:        ');
//define('EMAIL_TEXT_SHIPPING', 'Shipping: ');
//define('EMAIL_TEXT_TOTAL', 'Total:    ');
define('EMAIL_TEXT_DELIVERY_ADDRESS', 'Delivery Address');
define('EMAIL_TEXT_BILLING_ADDRESS', 'Billing Address');

// suggest not using # vs No as some spamm protection block emails with these subjects
define('EMAIL_ORDER_NUMBER_SUBJECT', ' No: ');
define('HEADING_ADDRESS_INFORMATION','Address Information');
define('HEADING_SHIPPING_METHOD','Shipping Method');
?>

I have added // infront of the lines I thought needed to be disabled to solve my problem but it didnt work.

So then I went to the tpl_checkout_confirmation_default.php line 168 - 171
Removed the code:

<div id="orderTotals"><?php $order_total_modules->output(); ?></div>
<?php
  }
?>

And it still didnt work so I replaced to code to its original state.Is there maybe something i could add the the code above to aid me in my problem as I am still a PHP newbie and just have knowledge of html and css.

This is the last thing I need to resolve then we can launch our site.

If anyone could help me or just give me a tip it ould be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Jacques

Re: Removing the totals on the order confirmation page

Go to:

/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

and remove the desired elements. For example, below is the shopping cart code with Unit and Total prices removed.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" id="cartContentsDisplay"> <tr class="tableHeading"> <th scope="col" id="scQuantityHeading"><?php echo TABLE_HEADING_QUANTITY; ?></th> <th scope="col" id="scUpdateQuantity"> </th> <th scope="col" id="scProductsHeading"><?php echo TABLE_HEADING_PRODUCTS; ?></th> <th scope="col" id="scUnitHeading"></th> <th scope="col" id="scTotalHeading"></th> <th scope="col" id="scRemoveHeading"> </th> </tr> <!-- Loop through all products /-->

Further down, you will see the section for subtotal if you would like to remove that section. Remove the code starting with <div and ending with </div> with subtotal in between.

Re: Removing the totals on the order confirmation page

Hi,

Thanks for the reply I have tried your solution but it doesn't work it just changes the shopping cart area once you've added the item to your cart before you go to step 1 of 3 of the checkout process.

Thanks again for your time appreciate it.:smile:

Re: Removing the totals on the order confirmation page

Yay!! Solved my own problem.

For others to benefit the way I did it was by downloading the "No Prices Template by stevesh" because i only wanted my order confirmation page's totals to be gone I only uploaded the tpl_checkout_confirmation_default.php from the add-on to the template folder inside my template.

Then did a dummy sale on my site and Viola the totals was gone.

Special thanks to stevesh for the contribution which saved my life now I can go ahead and get to launching this store.

Regards,
Jakesza
