Audio Player to preview MP3s

I have wrecked my brain for the last 3 hours and can't get this done. I am setting up a site for downloadable mp3s. Am using 1.3.9h. Need to have a preview option for each song offered. Been thru the searches and looked at options but I just don't know what the best scenario is and what works.

Tried to work with the media manager, linking up a clip with a song etc. and yes, I have followed some of the instructions I found but.. it is not working. So.. what is the best audio player/method to use to get previews to play for each song and how do I go about this?

I recall using Wimpy in the past and that worked, but I cannot duplicate this anymore. Besides, not sure if that is the best option anyway. What are some of you using and I'd be grateful if you steered me into the right direction. Details please. Becoming brain dead.

Anyone has a bit of advice on this? I tried using the Media Manager and linking an audio snippet to an mp3 but it is not working... what am I missing? How can I can set up audio previews on my site. Please?

I did Misty and it's not working. I followed this tutorial! Got my clips in the media folder, the mp3s zipped up, the media manager has a 'collection', I add the audio clip to collection, I then assign it to product and 'nothing'. It shows as a 'linked clip' in the collection but not as a connected one. Keeps showing '0'. And nothing plays of course. Besides, no mention of a player here. Will that be someone's default player? Opening up in a new window? I need more details on this.

What am I missing? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the link and I did read that too. This is old stuff, like 2 years old. They are talking about the wimpy player at first (which I can't get working) but then I looked at this guy's website and it appears he's using a wp audio player... I need a similar set up i.e: list of all audio downloads on one category page with a preview button next to each.. Not a preview when one clicks on an individual audio file to download....

Anyway... I am also familiar with the bug that still exists in the media manager when only one category is there. I've got 2 categories just because of that for now.

First though, I cannot get a file to be assigned to a collection, which I tried again and it says: 0 linked products, even though the file is uploaded. It sounds simple enough but it's not working....??

Okay... plowing thru this. Found a thread somewhere where Dr. Bryte explains to change something in a tpl_sessions.php or so which I did. Now the clips will link to a product. Argghhh... it was called a 'tiny bug'... well... not tiny to me...

Moving forward: I can now see a media link on the products page but when I click on the link of the clip it goes to a 404 page not found.... why is that now? The clip is coming out of the sites media folder and the path looks correct.

Anyhow.. I don't want to use an external player or someone's default anyway... I need to set up a play list with previews and songs like on pro site. How do I accomplish that now? Any documentation? Player suggestions? Templates to edit?

Next on this: I decided to forget about media manager for now. Even though I can link products with clips (finally). Instead, I got the WP Audio Player and added some js files plus the player.swf to the site. I now have a player on the products page but... when I point to the clips on the Zencart site (media folder for example) I get 'File not found'.. not just the media folder but even another folder I created just to test. All show as 'File not found' when trying to play the mp3s..

On the other hand, when I point to another site of mine that has some audio clips, they play just fine on my product page... can someone explain why that would be?

Where do you do this? I'm stuck at that point.

I know your problem was realized a long time ago, but I am having the identical problem with my cart. I need to have my mp3's set up so they a clip can be heard by the browsing person. I also cannot get the media manager to recognize that fact that some categories have products. .....seems to me that there are enough posts regarding these problems with musical content, that Zen would do something about it. Frankly, I'm about ready to give up on the package and move on to something else. I don't have time for this frustration.
