Download Links Don't Work...

Hi everybody,
I tried searching for this particular problem on the FAQ's and I also searched the boards but nothing came up that helped. I am currently running v1.3.9g with no real customizations besides changing the colors and basic stuff like that. I am trying to set up digital downloads with the vinyl records I am selling on my store. I got everything all set up such as uploading the zip files to the "download" folder, setting up the attributes to the products. So I ran a test checkout to see if it would work and I can checkout fine, but when I return to "my account" to get my download the link does not work. When I click on the download link I get a page that says, "bad request: your browser has sent a request that this server could not perform". Now I checked with my server host to make sure I am running a Unix server. So I changed the permissions on the "pub" folder to "777" as instructed. I am not sure what I am missing/doing wrong. Please help, thank you.

Yes I did. All the downloads have a green dot next to them when I look them up by Attribute Settings. The download button is there in the checkout. It just doesn't go anywhere when you click on it. I just keep getting that "bad request" page.

Did you set attributes so that file can be downloaded
more than once by purchaser?
