file manager or ftp?

Starting from scratch with a new host...
Do y'all recommend uploading site files via the file manager or ftp account?

Use the right tools for the job.

C-Panel is for managing the hosting environment.

FTP is used for file transfers.

Also, resist any temptation to use server-side "auto-installers" or "auto-updaters"... They are dangerous.
