Can't edit products

When I click the edit icon to edit a product, the fields on the resulting page are blank--the product info that should already be there is gone.

I noticed the URL to edit has action=new_product, as in:

admin/product.php?page=1&product_type=1&cPath=3&pID=39&action=new_product

Is this URL correct to edit an existing product?

All that's in zencart/cache are some install logs and a couple of session files (all from Oct 2010), plus the index and htaccess file. I tried deleting the log and session files, but no change.

Any other ideas?

You may have munged up the Master Categories ID.
Find the product and click C for copy, then cl the Multiple Categories Link Manager.
Set the Master Categories ID by picking the correct category from the dropdown.
If you don't see any in the dropdown, check an existing cat below and update. Then the Master should appear for selection.

I followed your instructions... on the Multiple Categories Link Manager screen, the correct Master Category for the product was already selected. I clicked update to see if it helped, but no go: on the product edit screen the following fields are empty (and should have content, the content that's shown in the front end catalog):

Date available
Product name
Products description

The other fields have retained their content.

I need to edit three products but it looks like the only way I can right now would be to re-create them. I've been using ZenCart for years, never seen this before...

That's exactly the problem! PHP version 5.1.6.

Upgrading PHP is not an option with this host without moving servers, which would be a pretty hefty job for this site, one that I know the client won't go for. So, I'll run through the fixes from the link provided.
