Character problem for non-English address

Character problem for non-English address

I am using 1.3.9h

when I receive orders from non-english country, some characters of the address is broken. Even in the paypal details, the address is broken too. (I use express checkout)

Is there any way to have a better encoding?

Use phpmyadmin and check what your database collation is

ã shouuld render correctly as it does on my stock demo install

my collation is utf8_unicode_ci

is it correct? if not, which one should I choose? thanks

MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
MySQL connection collation: utf8_unicode_ci

to any product description and check if it renders correctly

Hi, I put ã in a product description and it shows correctly. So what to do next?

For your information, not only 'ã' cannot be showed in the address, there are still many other non-English characters cannot be shown correctly in the address.
