My final comment on this thread...
Everyone on this forum was a newbie at one point. Me included. Over the last 6 years I have learned practically everything I know about ZC by using this forum and its resources in a structured, ordered manner.
All I am advising is that one should begin by doing a lot of reading first. This saves considerable time in the long run, and helps people to get a more comprehensive understanding of the structures of the program. You will begin to see patterns of behaviour, the logical relationships between functions, taxonomy, terminology, etc.
If you take out a day, and devote it to reading all the FAQ's and tutorials, and make notes along the way, you will be following the path I took (as an ignorant newbie 6 years ago) and which helped me towards developing a better understanding of this very versatile and detailed software.
You would also do well to invest in the User Manual (advert appearing on your screen).
I know the temptation is to dive into the deep end... but people who do this will spend many frustrating hours on the forum, not really knowing what they are looking for, or how to phrase questions to solicit a meaningful answer.
Unfortunately, zencart (like all software of its kind) is very complicated. There are also many, many NON-zencart issues that people need to know, if they want to manage their websites from a technical level. If a person does not know the basics of server set-up, html, css, ftp... etc, then their task is that much harder.
