Removing newsletter and email subscription box

I read another thread and did everything that was suggested, However, on the page where new customers create their accounts, at the very bottom is a box that says "Newsletter and Email" and directly under that it says html and text. How can I get rid of that? or at least remove the word "Newsletter"?

the reason being that even though the newsletter box is not viewable, folks automatically think that they are signed up for it anyway.

you can edit this information in includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php (at around line 617)

so do I just delete that line? or?

You can remove that whole section by editing includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_create_account.php and remove this:

Then save it to your custom template /templates folder.

If you want to leave the email part, use clyde's suggestion and edit this line in english.php:

define('ENTRY_EMAIL_PREFERENCE','Newsletter and Email Details');

to read:

define('ENTRY_EMAIL_PREFERENCE','Email Details');

and this line:

define('ENTRY_NEWSLETTER', 'Subscribe to Our Newsletter.');

to:

define('ENTRY_NEWSLETTER', '');
