Updating Product Problems

Hi,

I am currently experiencing problems when I try to update my products with a new product manufacturer and or products model number. It does not change. Which file should I be looking at for the problem.

Many thanks in advanced

Re: Updating Product Problems

Hi,

I have my site running well, but cannot update products that are already listed. Is their a product update php file that need looking at. I can see the products and the product update page but when I alter the product manufacturer, photo or products model it reverts to the ones entered that I try to alter.

Hope that makes sence.

Thanks

Re: Updating Product Problems

Hi,

Sorry for the posting. I guess all I really need to know is which files are used for the upgrading of the zen cart so that I can restore that perticular file. I am on the latest zen cart which was a fresh install.

Thanks anyway

Re: Updating Product Problems

I did follow the thread and make the changes,
You did not need any changes...back them out

You state that you are using php version 5.2.14

And that thread specifically states

DrByte:

Using PHP version lower than 5.2.3 (and 5.2.3 is LESS THAN 5.2.13, for example. ie: 3 is less than 13)

Re: Updating Product Problems

Hi, I am grasping at straws and will try anything to sort the problem I did realise I had a higher version, but was willing to try. I did revert to my back up after that try. Thank you.

Is their any perticular file in Zen cart that directly affects the product updates?

regards

Hi, I am grasping at straws and will try anything to sort the problemAnd those trying to help are grasping at straws without the information requested. What you think is unimportant might make the difference. AND, .... There's no such thing as a standard installation. All the information we ask for can make many changes to a "Clean Install."
At least give us a peak at the site. You can enter it as yoursite DOT com if it's not ready for prime time.

Re: Updating Product Problems

Many thanks for the info. I have just managed to sort it. The problem lay in the update_pruduct.php file found in admin/includes/modules.

Their seemed to be a coding issue on update. Relaced with file from a back up and all is well.

Many thanks for the great advice and help. MAy be im not so green!:onfire:

Re: Updating Product Problems

Relaced with file from a back up
Should have the file from the same version of ZenCart as you are running

Mixing files from versions is not a good policy
