Cannot change product picture

I am using Zen Cart 1.3.9h New Install.
Addons installed, Google, facebook, Noc hex, pay pal, super orders.

PHP Version 5.2.14

The problem is we have changed a few products and when we go to update the new changed picture it previews but does not change when we press update.

Any ideas on where I should start looking?

If the image name is different, check after you change it in the admin to see what image name is being associated with the product

If the image is the correct NEW image name then insure that you clear your browser's cache as it may have the old image cached

No the pic does not change, nor does the name. It seems to be something to do with updateing from the computer to the server database. (if thats english)

I am not sure if their is a php page for the updateing of products.

Are you not doing this from your admin??

admin > catalog > selecting the category and the product to update
Selecting the "browse" function to select the new image that will be on your local computer
Preview and update

Yes I go through the admin find the product change the pic and go preview (all is well) then update and it goes back to the original picture. I cannot figure it out.

Are you insuring tha your brrowser's cache has/is cleared??

Yes browser is cleared and I have used 2 seperate systems one for uplading and another for viewing, both have been cleared before, and after the update process.

I cannot for the life of me work it out. I have just gone to update a product title and it does not change either, it showes in preview but does not change in admin or web shop when I press update.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also experienced this problem a couple of times, however i resolved the issue, in Admin by clearing the old picture first, before adding the new one, so tick the yes to remove image, preview will show its gone, then just reload.

The picture uploads fine, but i guess some pics may not be clean of meta data in the file, as seen when enhancing pics with AC/DC.

I used the image manager in my control panel, to convert the jpg back to a jpg, to ensure proper loading without error and it cleared whatever extra data was blocking the image from loading correctly in the file system, image folders.

Funny thing is you can still view the image, even though it isn't loaded correctly, and it looks like a text file. So just crunch it with the image converter, in the format and size you want and it should load correctly.

I don't think its that simple, I have tried to change the title of a product, in the preview shows it has changed but when I update the item it reverts to the original.

The pictures are only a part of the problem, This is why I was wondring if their is a seperate php file for updating products.

Maybe this might be worth a try since the php version seems to be okay.

Many thanks for the info. I have just managed to sort it. The problem lay in the update_pruduct.php file found in admin/includes/modules.

Their seemed to be a coding issue on update. Relaced with file from a back up and all is well. :clap:
