Need assitance in Attributes

I have a Site I am building out and one of the items I cannot seem to address or find an answer to is as follows and example.

I sell motorcycle helmets / accessories and parts. I will use my Use Case for Helmets

A Helmet has Size, Color, Manufacture and Part Number

I understand setting up price difference for example a solid color helmet is $10 while the custom painted is $12. I have the sizes established as well with OEM.

The problem I have is defining a Model Number for Each Helmet without adding multiple products.

For example:
Helmet part number 1234 is a solid black XL priced at $10
Helmet part number 4321 is a red XL priced at $12

What I want is when the Customer clicks on size, clicks on color then adds to cart, I want the PROPER Part Number to be displayed and printed as well.

How do I do that?

Zencart doesn't support model number by attribute in the current version.

The only work-around I know of (and have used) is to include the model number in the option name (example: Black XL - 1234).

Of course, that means that you will need to create separate attributes for each product.

Thanks, I figured that to be the case. I will opt to build out sub catagories so I can define each item by OEM, Product, Model #

I need the Model # to be as it is simply I am also drop shipping from my supplier and they get the order. Would be a nice mod if someone was so inclined :lookaroun
