Sponsors box clashing with my banner

I wanted to put a logo on the top of the right hand sidebox to link to the home page of my site (different to the homepage of the cart). I put together a little .gif, added my own banner in admin with a link - all good so far.

However, there is now a "Sponsors" box underneath it, looking very ugly. I want to get rid of that and just have my banner.

I've looked at various threads and they all say turn off the banners in admin. I've turned them all off apart from sideboxes/banner_box.php which where I added my own banner.

Where have I gone wrong?

Thanks again.

Yes, the link does. But underneath there is a box with the word "sponsors" in the top which is generated by Zen Cart. It is this box which I want to get rid of.

Basically, I added a banner using all the instructions with no trouble. But, instead of the banner appearing on its own (as intended), Zen Cart has generated a box to put it in, with the word "sponsors" at the top. It is this box which I want to remove.

I could remove the word "sponsors" with no troble, but I don't want the box at all - just the banner.
(I left the "sponsors" there because it might give a clue to how this is generated).

Thanks for taking a look, Kobra. Any further ideas?

Re: Sponsors box clashing with my banner

Ignore last message - I got totally the wrong end of the stick!!!

I miss-typed the link:

ellybooks.co.uk/shop

So sorry for everyone who looked and couldn't figure out what was going on. Would you mind taking a second look?

I must've been tired last night.

Re: Sponsors box clashing with my banner

More problems than just the image. You've coded a zenid in there as well.

Anything placed in a bannerbox div will cause a box to appear.

Well, I found out what a zenid is. Not sure why this is a problem.

Maybe I'll have another fiddle with it.

Maybe I can fiddle with the banner, too, so it looks ok in the box.

Re: Sponsors box clashing with my banner

Maybe the simplest solutions are the best. I changed the banner shape so it fitted better in the box, then I removed the word "sponsors" from the top /includes/languages/english.php

Now it actually looks fine

There doesn't seem to be a zenID issue now.

This has been a steep learning curve for me, so thank you for everyone on the support boards who has patiently answered my questions.

Re: Sponsors box clashing with my banner

Glad you got it going. There are many ways around doing something.
In your travels through Zen Cart, keep in mind that a quick fix in a core file will follow you through all the upgrades of your days.
If it's a file I can save in the override/custom directory, I'll play with it till I like it.
For instance, your changes to the /includes/languages/english.php file should have been saved to /includes/languages/future_zen/english.php. Otherwise, the next upgrade will overwrite your changes.
