Default Product Meta tags not responding

Hi,
I have setted in Catalog>Product Types>Product General each of the "Show Meta Tags Title Default - ..." to false, and I still get a complete meta tag for each product, including all the information that I have setted to false.
My html_header has the original code:

<title><?php echo META_TAG_TITLE; ?></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<?php echo CHARSET; ?>" /> <meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo META_TAG_KEYWORDS; ?>" /> <meta name="description" content="<?php echo META_TAG_DESCRIPTION; ?>" />

What I am doing wrong? Is there any other setting that overrides these ones? Thank you!

(Running version 1.39h)
