Difficulties in configuring Shipping **Please assist**

Hello,

I want to configure the shipping option in two region.

1. US Local (within 48 US connecting states only)
2. International (all other countries)

For US Local region I want the following configuration,

"Free standard Shipping on all orders over $50 and a low flat rate charge of $5.99 on all orders under $50".

For International shipping I want the following,

"All countries (excluding US (that 48 states) shipping will be calculated by USPS shipping module."

I have already signed up and activated USPS and installed in my site.

Please guide me which places and how I should configure to have those settings working.

Install Flat Rate flat shipping and set to US 48 Zone Definition and the price to 5.95 ...

Install Free Shipping Options freeoptions and set to US 48 Zone Definition and set the Total >= 50.00 ...

Install the USPS shipping and set the Zone to your International Shipping ...

Now this makes the Shipping on the US show both the Flat Rate flat and the Free Shipping Options freeoptions at the same time for the US 48 ...

You could customize the Flat Rate flat code further if you do not want to see that show when the Free Shipping Options freeoptions is showing ...

I am explaining which information I need to know,

For the International shipping zone definition which I should choose in the "Country" option and "Zone" option?

For the US 48 connecting states zone definition I am going to choose "United States" as the "Country" but which zone I should select in the "Zone" option? I am really confused at how I could insert all the connecting 48 states within a zone.

To make the 48 states you pick the country US and pick the first state and add it and keep doing it until you have all 48 states and DC ...

For the countries you need to pick each Country and for the Zone select All Zones ...

Do all countries ...

For the Rest of the World you can use in the Tools ... Insert SQL Patches ...

INSERT INTO geo_zones (geo_zone_id, geo_zone_name, geo_zone_description, last_modified, date_added)
VALUES (40, 'Rest of the World', 'All Countries Except United States 48', NULL, CURDATE());

INSERT INTO zones_to_geo_zones (zone_country_id, zone_id, geo_zone_id, date_added)
SELECT countries_id , 0, 40, CURDATE()
FROM countries
WHERE countries_iso_code_3 NOT IN ('USA');

That will build the Zone for you for Rest of the World ...

Then add Country US and Alaska and Hawaii ...

Thanks a lot Ajeh. I have added those 2 zone definition according to your SQL patching guidance and it works.

Just facing one problem don't know why as I already set free shipping zone to 48 Lower states of US but when I am placing order from other country (non US) over $50, it counts as free shipping.

Any suggestion will be great...

What method did you use for the Free Shipping?

Are you using the cloned Flat Rate set to 0.00 and the Zone set to your new US 48 zone?

If you check your Zone Definition for the US 48, do you see in the Details the 48 States plus DC?

As you suggested on #2 of this thread I have set $5.95 for flat rate shipping using the module Flat Rate flat where I set the zone US 48 (that is 48 lower states).

For the free shipping option I am using module Free Shipping Options freeoptions where I set the total Total >= 50.00 as you suggested and it's Shipping Zone is 48 Lower States.

Yes in the 48 US zone definition it's showing 48 States + DC.

Could you check the Modules ... Order Total ... Shipping ot_shipping and make sure that the Free Shipping is not enabled in that ...
