shopping cart is broken - pls help?

Hello all, I recently made a few changes to the general design of my site (after some helpful feedback from some people on here) nothing major just changing order of buttons etc etc...

I have just realised (a client emailed me) that my shopping cart is broken, when you click to go shopping cart you just get a blank white page no error message or anything.

I am running version 1.3.9d (and was today about to post on here looking for someone to help me [paid] upgrade to the latest version as I dont know that I know enough about it to do it myself....).

I dont know where to start to find out why my shoppign cart doesn't work now? help?

Report back with any errors in this folder:

root directory/ cache

try and work back, find what you have changed and put the backed up original files back up.

Personally after any changes i make to the site php, i do test orders etc, because one misplace div or apostrophe can really stuff things up and is really hard to track down

I didn't actually change any files directly, all I did was go into the admin panel and change things like the order of the buttons, remove top categories, etc.

Looks like you've placed a few x sell mod files in the wrong place. You might want to revisit that one.

Hi thanks, Thing is, I haven't moved any files though, I dont play with the files cause I dont have a clue what I am doing.... I logged into the admin panel and did some changes there that was it.

Care to elaborate? I'm curious to know how you can make a file appear from the control panel.:dontgetit

OK what I meant was I logged into the admin panel where the store categories etc are set up. I used that to go into the categories and change the wording on them, and also changed their sort order.

I then went into the configuration section and changed a couple of settings in there. One thing was the information gathered in the log in section to exclude some things suggested in the thread giving me feedback to my site http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=180986

I had looked at the local copy of the page not found and shopping cart but had not changed them in any way (wasn't quite sure what to do)

Obviously I have done something daft without even meaning to.

Have you done a test order successfully without any additional debug files showing up?

I've gone onto my site and tried to put something in the shopping cart, thats all I know how to do? I get a blank page as well.

OK but I have had a proper look and can see that it is wanting this file

tpl_modules_xsell_products.php

but it isn't in the directory it is looking for, and I have no backup of that area (another issue entirely)

what could I have done to lose that file somehow and how could I restore or replace it?

And, do you have new debug files in the cache directory?

dbltoe and others, thank you for your patience. Your questions in the end led me to fixing it... I had in fact some days ago edited a single line of text in the shopping_cart.php line (despite me saying I had not edited any files, I had done one... dont ask me why I forgot that, I was panicking about my site...) and put a single apostophe. Thanks everyone for your time and helpful answers.

Glad you got it sorted out. And, thanks for letting others know what fixed the problem.
