can't delete customer

I was testing the forms etc and set up an account then I deleted it from the database table but it was still showing in admin so I went ahead and deleted from within admin/customers and it won't delete- just wondering why not? curiosity..:dontgetit

There are a couple of indexed tables where an account is referenced

You only hit/deleted ONE directly in the DB - - bad move

Now the records are incomplete for a delete from the admin

Did you backup BEFORE messing directly with the DB??

And then delete via the admin only

To take it out cleanly you would have to remove the records associated with it from the customers, customers_info and address_book tables. Otherwise you leave bits behind and risk (and this sounds like what's happening) the equivalent Zen Cart queries being unable to link the tables together properly and failing.

Where do I find these tables?

I had a customer who was having trouble logging in, and as they hadn't purchased anything, I figured the easiest solution was to delete the account (from my admin panel). And they could create a new one. They say they have tried but it comes back that the email address is already in use.

So I guess I need to do something with these tables to make sure nothing is left blocking them from creating their account again.

From what you're saying, it sounds as though the customers may not be deleting cleanly. That could indicate data corruption, so needs top be investigated and resolved before you start deleting the evidence.

To answer your question, the quote was referring to database tables, but it would be dangerous to mess with them unless you know what you're doing. And even then make sure you back up the database first.
