different prices for product listing and product info pages

I have been searching for an answer to this for awhile...

Example: I am selling 5 pks. of 5 carrots each which equals 25 carrots total. I want to be able to list price as 1.00 (price per carrot) on product listing page but on product info page have the price say 5.00 as being the price for the package of carrots. Can this be done? Thanks.

Re: different prices for product listing and product info pages

I would find this confusing and annoying as a customer.

When people shop on the WWW, they don't like surprises. I want to see the price of everything CONSISTENTLY through the shopping process.

What you are proposing is showing me one price at one level, then a second price at another level, and requiring me to do some mental arithmentic quickly to see if your first price correlates with your second price, and being suspicious that there's a trick in it somewhere.

Guess what?

I'm outta there fast.

Just tell me what the product costs, how it's configured and what I get for my money, in simple, plain and easy-to-absorb information.

Don't make people work too hard to buy your goods. Do the exact opposite... make it as easy as possible.
