Attribute Images in Grid format (with multiple columns) that can be clicked

I would like tohave Attribute Images displayed in Grid format with multiple columns, say 4, whereby the images can be clicked to select, e.g. colour and then progress with order.

I have tried to attributes grid add on, but only displayed in 1 column and couldn't click image to select attribute, e.g. colour.

if this is possible, would be good to know

if needs cutom dev, also keen to hear

found a fix for this, not exactly, but pretty close http://www.jarbon.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=42_44&products_id=143

go to edit the option name, in this case knit by numbers, and select from format choices, e.g. 'Element Below Image and Option Name', etc.

now need to lose the drop down as this is now no longer required
