Additional info in sidebox

I'd like to remove everything from the left sidebox and put my own content there. I tried just deleting the code in the tpl_box_default_left.php and replacing it with my content. Bad idea LOL. It shows up fine - twice :)

Removing the categories and search was easy via the admin but that just leaves me with an empty box and few ideas how to add something else.

What I need is to add things like a phone number, address, links, etc - none of which is an EZ page, it's just plain old content.

After an afternoon perusing the forums I still can't find an answer. Anyone have a simple answer?

There is a side COLUMN, into which you place side BOXES.

The easiest and safest way to do this is to create your own custom SIDEBOX. You can use the BLANK SIDEBOX addon in the free software addons to do this.

Then, after creating your sidebox content, FTP the whole add-on module to your server.

Switch all other sideboxes OFF, and leave your new one ON.
