very new site

very new site

I have just installed zen cart for the very first time. mega newby.
the version is 1.3.9g

At first I think zen cart is only an addon shopping cart for a website and so I build the web site first. now I look at some site on showcase and i think zen cart is the whole site, not just the shopping cart.

which is correct. to add zen cart as shopping cart or to stop my current build to make new site in zen cart.

as you see i am a little bit confuse.
