Hide What's New and Best Sellers Sideboxes

If I can get away with one box and having 3 to 4 things in it and it would serve the same functionality as having separate boxes then I am all for it. It would probably be easier to do right?

Are you using the Banners All sidebox?

Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

Banner Display Group - Side Box banner_box_all

Then turn it on in Tools ... Layout Boxes Controller ...

The Banners All sidebox allows for multiple banners at the same time to be displayed ...

No ... cloning something means you are using a file or files as a base to build something new ...

If you were to look at:
/includes/modules/sideboxes/banner_box.php
/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/banner_box.php

and compare to:
/includes/modules/sideboxes/banner_box2.php
/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/banner_box2.php

you would see how they are clones of one another ...

You can clone the Banners All in a similar manner:
/includes/modules/sideboxes/banner_box_all.php
/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/banner_box_all.php

/includes/modules/sideboxes/banner_box_all2.php
/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/banner_box_all2.php

and each of the ALL to ALL2 and all to all2 ...

Then you need to have the setting for the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

The Banner Box ALL uses:

You can make a new one for the Banner Box All 2 with this in the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ...

NOTE: once you add the first Banner to the Group:

it will start to appear in the Dropdown ...

I followed the steps you provided above, however, the banners are not showing up on my pages? I cloned the "banner_box_all.php" to "banner_box_all2.php" and so on. Can you help me figure out why they aren't showing up? Also, I didn't see the Banner Group "BannerAll2" so I manually added it. Within the Cloned Files, Do I need to change the "ALL to ALL2 and all to all2" not sure if that is what you meant.

Fixed it, that looks like all I was missing were the remaining alls. Thank you for your help.

My only question now is how do I remove this set of boxes from the Product ID pages?

You could customize the code further:

  if ($_GET['products_id'] || SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET_ALL2 == '') {

I would place this code into the Banner_box_all2 and place in my override folder? Got it, Worked like a charm :)

I have a question/modification that I haven't been able to find a solution to and thought you might know.

I want to make the products in the center of my site a little more uniform. The product names and prices span too far and I want to limit each product to a specific width to to give it a cleaner look.

On my homepage, you will notice what I am talking about with "New Products for July".

How could I fix this?

Hi Ajeh, thanks for your code suggestion, I also wanted to hide the bestsellers sidebox on my home page and the solution above worked fine. However, I just realized that I would prefer to have it shown only during product listing. So the customer easily can see the most sold products in the current category the customer is vewing. So I want to hide the bestsellers sidebox on for example "index.php?main_page=logoff", "index.php?main_page=reviews", "index.php?main_page=specials" etc... would love to see a code example where I can add the pages where I don't want the sidebox to show. Could use this for other sideboxes as well.
