Removing the end tag of some php files with update...

Feel free to skip right to questions *** if you don't want background info.

I have a site hosted with GoDaddy and they typically do the initial install of Zen Cart. Anyway, things have been running well for many months now, Ive done updates and had no problem.

I have done my changes to the site live and made backups of the site from time to time. But as the db name was different I had not bothered to get a local working copy set up.

Now I have some significant changes so I wanted to work on a local version and then transfer that to GoDaddy. However, I noticed that aside from the differences that I expected, the version of the configure.php files also did not match along with the end php tag!

*** What files require there not be an end tag ?> of the php?

***Will it adversely affect the site if some do and some don't? Meaning do I need to find other files and make sure they are expecting no end tag?

Seems there was a post explaining some of this but I could not find it.

Thank you in advance for any and all help.
