Define_Pages_Editor has no options

I'm brand new and just installed Zen Cart for the first time. I've been trying to follow various tutorials for customizing and adding things to the catalog. One tutorial tells me to go to Tools, Define_Pages_Editor. The tutorial implies that there are options to choose from there but I don't see any options. I tried uploading that page from a local copy and I still don't see any options.

Could someone tell me how to populate that page so that I can edit something?

Please be gentle, I am not a programmer and don't know anything about PHP.

Being php "pages" do not exist but are built from many pieces

I have a copy of zen cart on my local computer. I uploaded "define_pages_editor.php" from the local copy to the host server thinking that perhaps that file was corrupted in some way but that did not resolve the issue.

Is it a new install or an upgrade? new

What the addons/contributions you have installed? none

What customizations have you made? none

What type of server are you using? siteground

Are you installing locally? no

What version of PHP is installed on the server? how would I find that out?

What version of MYSQL is installed on the server? how would I find that out?

What you were doing when your problem occurred? following a tutorial

What are the steps to reproduce the problem? follow the steps in the tutorial

Have you attempted to fix the problem? no - I don't know how

As I said, I'm brand new and I am not a programmer. When the page does not work the way the tutorial says it should, I have no idea what to do next.

Where the drop down box says "select a file to edit", that text is the only option in the drop down box. The tutorial implies that there should be other options there.

/includes/language/english/html_includes/
and/or
/includes/language/english/html_includes/your_template/

What version of PHP is installed on the server? how would I find that out?

Is your site set to use the classic template?

If yes - - check the permissions on the folders
/includes/language/english/html_includes/
/includes/language/english/html_includes/classic/

they should be the same as permissions on
/includes/

Also check the file permissions for all files at
/includes/language/english/html_includes/classic/

The permissions in html_includes and classics are all the same:

There are a variety of permissions in the Includes folder. Should these be changed?

Did you manually install ZenCart or use an automated script like Fantastico?

If manual, try reloading with your FTP client all the /admin files

While that is OK for a quick look to see if it might meet your needs
I suggest that you NEVER use it for a production install or any upgrade step

On the home page of this site you can download a zip of the files
Expand them on your pc
FTP the admin folder contents electing to over write

You/fantastico have renamed the admin folder to something else so take that into account

Okay, I have done that. Now how do I get the pages to show up in the drop down list like in your screen shot? There still isn't anything there.

I can state that this is not how a standard install is supposed to be

You might try an fully manual install
