Calculate Sales Tax based on pre-coupon amount?

Hello,

I have a website where a $500 product is "free" with a coupon code for $500 off. The shopper still pays shipping and should still pay sales tax based on the total $500 value.

Is it possible to have Zen Cart charge sales tax based on the pre-discount price of $500, instead of on the post-discount price of $0?
