Newbie Needing Help Please

I just downloaded zen cart through Ipage - who is hosting the site for me. I have been reading the zen FAQ's and forum for hours and followed the steps to make a few minor changes and having issues.

I went through the admin area and added products - no problem.

To change the header messages, etc. It tells me to go to includes/languages/english/header.php

Which I did in the File Manager part of Ipage, but my changes are not showing up.

Is there somewhere else I am supposed to be accessing these files?

Please let me know, I have spent a day and half trying to figure out why I cant get these changes to go through to take off all the Zen Cart stuff and add my own. I am on a very limited timeframe to get this up and running. I used zen cart years ago and everything is a blur to me now.

   have you looked in includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/header.php

Yes, I found the file on Ipage and changed it. They are telling me I need to upload it to my PC, but my files are not on my PC, they are on Ipage. That is the part that is not making any sense.

When I loaded zen cart, I had to load it through Ipage and all of my files are loaded there instead of my PC.

The changes I make directly through the zen cart admin page are working fine. Its the changes I have to go into the files to make that its not recognizing.

I feel so lost right now. I did this about 2 years ago and it worked fine, but I dont remember all of the steps.

Don't use the file manager in your hosting account for this. Install an FTP program (Filezilla is a good free one) and use it to download the file you need to change to your local computer, edit it in your text editor, and upload the changed file back to the server, to the proper override folder for your custom template.
