Full PDF Brochure download

We would like to add a full brochure download of our products for free.
Firstly, we have created our own brochure and would like to include a link on the main page to download - What would the hyperlink and file path be if saved under /download?
Secondly, is this the best way as we would like customers to also login to download?
Any suggestions would be appreciated?

You could do that with either EZ Pages or in your Define Page for the Main Page with:

Get this file: <a href="/mycatalogdir/download/test.zip">Have a Download</a>

I would recommend using a zip file as a PDF would result in a lot more band width being used ...

I have tried this but the website produces a box and asks that I provide a username and password!?....
Why is this?

1. What is your website
2. What are the permissions on your download folder
3. I think you may be running afoul of the way the downloads folder is set up

it actively prevents people dowloading files with certain extensions (I think)

Does your site sell downloads at all?

if not you could possible remove the zip from the .htaccess of the downloads folder
