Ceon URI Mapping v4

I recently updated from 3.8 to 4.02 on 1.39d. everything went well, but I had a question about the htaccess rewrite rule. I have made a custom page names "shop" but is one of the rules it the htaccess. I simply deleted that entry and everything seems to work fine, but was there a reason the shop rule was put in there?

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hi Conor,

Hope you are having a good time there.

I have installed 4.0.2 on a brand new 1.3.9h so no core file merging was required. You'll find a link to my website at the bottom of this post.

Everything went perfect with installation check etc. I have also added re-write rule to .htaccess. When I set up a category or item's static URI I get the following error immediately after I hit "preview"

1146 Table 'enginara_main.TABLE_CEON_UMM_CATEGORY_MAPPING_TEMPLATES' doesn't exist
in:
[ SELECT mapping_template FROM TABLE_CEON_UMM_CATEGORY_MAPPING_TEMPLATES WHERE category_id = '0' AND language_id = '1' LIMIT 1;]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

I am just not that advanced to understand or apply what it says.

You need know the following, too:
I am trying to switch from my 12 year old bulky html website to 1.3.9h "showcase only" (cherry_zen). At the moment both index.html and index.php are on the server so that visitors can still view the old website. I am not done with the zen version.
I will remove index.html as soon as I am done.

**Server OS: Linux 2.6.18-194.11.4.el5
PHP Version: 5.2.13 (Zend: 2.2.0)
PHP Memory Limit: 64M
Database: MySQL 5.0.92-community-log
HTTP Server: Apache
PHP Safe Mode: Off

EP 1.2.5.4 installed
IH2 installed
Zen Lightbox Installed.
Clyde Jone's Footer Menu Installed

I had to turn URI Mapping OFF **because of the table error above. It still gives me the tickbox option in admin product and categories though. Also I removed rewrite rules from .htaccess since it eliminated my currently working index.html. I need 2-3 more days to finish my zen catalog and launch the new version. Until then I definitely need my old website up and running.

Here is my index.php

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hello Conor,

I had been useing your add-on Uri Mapping with my zencart 1.3.8a for quite a while.

A few days ago my server was upgraded to 5.3. Since than i can not add products to my shopping cart if the Ceon module is started. When i shut down the module the cart works perfectly.

I had been looked for an upgrade but as i see you made - the module compatible with php 5.3 only for zencart 1.3.9.

Is there a work around my problem?

Best regards,
Csorik Janos

Did you turn it on under configure menu in admin?

Yes, I did turn it on.

I've double and triplechecked everything and I can't seem to find what the issue is...

I also forgot to mention that when I attempt to use one of static URIs that I assigned by editting the item in the catalog via admin, the link simply just takes me to the home page of the store.

For example, if I use https://www.bbetoysplus.com/lego it take me to the home page.

I have no other suggestions, sorry, that is the same problem I had, but after looking at the .htaccess file and seeing the name of my admin file I felt I did not want to go any farther with this program to figure it out.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hi,

skellmeyer:

I hate to disturb people on their vacations.

lol I'm afraid I have to make it even worse.. I fell seriously ill half an hour before the dinner was about to be served in the wedding I'd flown over a thousand miles to get to and am only able to answer this post on a temporary break from hospital. :(

skellmeyer:

But if I don't post it now, I may forget what I've done, so...

I totally understand that! ;)

To be honest, this sounds so server specific I see no point in discussing it, especially given my limited time from now on. Please get in contact privately with FTP details and admin details for both sites so I can take a quick look and find out what you've done wrong or what the server is doing wrong.

Allthe best...

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hi,

thevagr1:

THANKS for a great updated module. I have been using your URI program for about 2 years.

Glad you like it and that it makes your site better! :)

thevagr1:

My question is ..
Is it possible to get a mapping for the Music Genre pages and Artist Pages.

The software has supported that for years.

thevagr1:

I have tried doing this in PHPMyAdmin with no success.

I have managed to get the /store/MusicGenre/Rock up in the mappings but it is not working on the site.
It looks like the associated_db_id is missing but I cant find one for Music Genre.

You don't use that field with genres.

Genres use typefilters, which use the query_string_parameters field:

uri: /store/MusicGenre/Rock

main_page: index

current_uri: 1

associated_db_id: null

query_string_parameters: typefilter=music_genre&music_genre_id=3

date_added: NOW() (selection in PHPMyAdmin).

All the best...

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hi,

labatts03:

I recently changed my directory on my website, and now the program is working in Admin. When I click through my site, when I go to the individual product page I get an 403 error. Does it have something to do with the / ? Just looking for some help before installing it over again. Cart 1.39h 4.02 ceon uri

Sorry, but your questions make no sense to me. I don't know what you are asking.

labatts03:

Secondly, does having your admin file listed in the .htaccess file cause any security risk?

Nope, not in any realistic practical sense, .htaccess files are only readable by the webserver, they are never publicly served (unless your server is really messed up which is very unlikely).

All the best...

The initial problem you described, as well as this further problem, seem to indicate the software not being enabled on the store side. If the installation check says the files are modified appropriately then things should be working fine.

If they aren't then please send me FTP and admin details for the site and I'll take a quick look as this should NEVER happen with this new version of the software.

All the best...

Hi Engin,

How are you?

Strange (but good of course) to see a photo of you.. put a real face to the virtual you! :)

Hi Conor,

Unfortunately as you'll have seen by now, although the first few days were great, things have been very bad since.. :(

You're attempting to use the UMM edition of the software without UMM.. I'll get in contact privately to discuss how to sort this out.

I am so sorry to hear all that you've been through my friend. Hope you get better really soon.
I have great respect to you that you are even trying to help us even in this condition.

About the UMM; this was what exactly I was thinking. I just didn't it since I only had 78 products.

Anyway I'll talk to you on the private end.

I'm afraid your English isn't so good in the formation of this question and as such I can't quite follow you.

What is "a custom page names shop"? And what is "but is one of the rules it the htaccess" meant to mean??!

Hi Randy,

countrycharm:

I hope everything will be OK with you soon Conor. Sorry to hear that.:(

Thanks, more importantly, I hope all is going well with your recovery and that you are growing stronger.

lol I will say that one thing that is good about French hospitals is that they give you a wee pack with a DVD of your brain scans when you leave.. feels like good value for money! ;)

Going to have a wee play with Zen Cart 1.5.0beta before I go back into hospital here in Ireland (no free DVDs here but at least you don't have to pay for hospital! ;) ), maybe get a new version of Ceon URI Mapping out for 1.5.0beta too.. watch this space.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

skellmeyer:

This is how it fails:

If I try to use the URI that is assigned, it kicks me back to the home page.
It keeps the assigned URI in the browser bar, but now I'm staring at the home page instead of the product page that's supposed to own that URI.
It does that no matter where I am in the site when I throw the auto-generated URI in the header - kicks back to home page, but keeps the URI in the browser bar.
If I hover over the product image or link on any page, I see the Zencurt URL in the lower left corner, not the CEO URI.
I can click and I'll go to the right product, but I never see the CEO link.

And, just for good measure, I also copied all the working admin files from BS to BCP, but it had zero effect (I didn't think that would make a difference, but it was worth trying).

I finally got it working by copying both files and database structure from a working installation.

Thanks for the offer to help!

To be honest I knew it could only be a mismatch of some files and/or database structure as v4 can't fail in the way you mentioned, so I was going to go in and "sync" things properly for you.

Glad you've got that all sorted yourself.. more time for both of us to spend on other things! ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Re: Ceon URI Mapping v4

Hi,

larkin1981:

I installed the Ceon URI Mapping add-on to my site (www.bbetoysplus.com) today and according to the installation check at the end of the process, it installed perfectly with no problems.

However, even after manually updating each category, the dynamic URIs are still being displayed in place of the static URIs.

After taking a look at your site I saw that the configuration options in the admin had not been created during installation.

This is very strange. It has happened to two of you here and I noticed it happen with 3 or 4 users of Ceon URI Mapping 3.x previously.

Yet there's no logical reason for this to ever happen, it's just a simple SQL insert command.

I was able to "fix" your installation by going to *Modules *-> Ceon URI Mapping (SEO) Config, appending ?check-config to the address (after .php), then refreshing the page.

The software then checked for the config option, found it missing and added it.

It added it using exactly the same method that was used in the attempt to add it when you first installed.

Why this "sometimes" fails and works other times is beyond me! Computers don't work randomly like that! So it must be a strange Zen Cart quirk. Hmm.

Nevertheless, that's things fixed for you now.

I may add this info as a FAQ in case this happens to others, although I really am at pains to understand why it happened in the first place! :(

All the best...
