The most SIMPLE thing and it doesnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is getting a joke now! i had to delete it again!!!!!

How hard is it to install this zencart? (EASY!) why cant i do it, its a joke. I have done the following and still not working.

put in my database details - run the install - deleted the install folder - edited the configure.php to the correct settings - changed the admin folder name as i put in the configure.php

everytime i go to the admin section - it goes back to the defult (admin/index.php) but i dont understand cos i have changed that folder name and also changed the setings in the configure.php files both the same in the admin/includes & includes.

Someone please tell me what i am doing wrong.

Re: The most SIMPLE thing and it doesnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you still having your problems? I am a first time ZenCart installer but a veteren of many other shopping carts including OSCommerce which is kinda like ZenCart. The install and use of template has given me trouble as well but that is because i needed to UNLEARN what i had LEARNED from other carts... It sounds like you are making the same mistakes I did - let me kno and i can chat via IM or have a look at it for you...

  1. Follow the ZenCart install instructions and DO NOT try to edit ANY of the configuration files you have edited with other carts in the past.

  2. Before you install a plug in or theme, BACK UP your database and your ZenCart folder... Keep a little change log in textpad or on paper and write down the name of your backup and what you installed. Name it properly so you can look at it and know where the backup was made during the process...

  3. Give your cart a look over after you install each additional function or theme to make sure it is working properly.
